Founder & managing partner
Paul is a founding partner of Genesis Park and is actively engaged in private and public investments across various technology sectors. He has created value by identifying situations where value could be created organically though operational improvement or by inorganic business combinations. As a veteran of many mergers, acquisitions, integrations and divestments, he held numerous Chairman and CEO roles. Paul most recently served as CEO of Texas Monthly, where he revitalized the iconic brand through a full makeover of talent and strategy. A recurring theme is to acquire orphaned divisions of public companies. Most notable is perhaps Alpheus Communications, where he partnered with the El Paso Corporation to energize and remake their telecom division in what became the most lucrative wireline exit of its era. Another was ColumbineJDS, where he carved out a division of Jefferson Pilot and created the largest back office media software firm in the world.
Paul currently serves on the Board of Directors for NRG Energy and FloTek and is on the Board of Trustees for Baylor College of Medicine. He has also served as the Chairman of the Texas Ethics Commission, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Texas General Services Commission and the Texas Business Hall of Fame.
