Simon is a Director of Genesis Park focusing on sourcing, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities in addition to monitoring and developing active portfolio companies. Prior to joining Genesis Park, Simon was the Vice President, Operations & Finance at Crane Capital Group (the investment company led by Houston Astros owner Jim Crane). In connection with Crane, Simon also served as the Chief Financial Officer at Aperture Cellars, a luxury winery backed by a Houston based investment group.
Prior to Crane and Aperture, Simon was the Director of Finance & Investor Relations at Halcon Resources and an Associate with The Sterling Group, a Houston-based, middle market private equity firm. He began his career in the investment banking division of Barclays Capital in Houston, focusing on M&A and financing advisory work for energy clients.
Simon is a member of the board of the Association of Corporate Growth (Houston), the Small Business Investor Alliance (Southern Region), and the Houston Private Equity Association. Simon also serves on the Advancement Committee of The Parish School, a school dedicated to children who have learning and language differences. Simon received a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
Simon participates in the investment and portfolio management activities of GP Capital.
